How do I turn it on and off?
Press the power button once to turn it on, and press it once again to turn it off.
How long does it take to heat up?
About 30 seconds to its default 410°F. A dot blinks and the numbers count up; when it is ready the display holds at your temperature.
What temperatures does it offer?
270°F to 450°F in 10°F steps, shown in °F. It starts at 410°F each time you turn it on. It beeps once with each press and chimes when it turns on and off.
How do I know the infrared is on?
Infrared works automatically. A solid red light on the top plate shows it is on.
Does it turn itself off?
Yes. It shuts off silently 60 minutes after the last button press. Some printed manuals say 30 minutes; in our hands-on test it is 60. Turn it on again with the power button as usual.
Do the plates float?
No. The plates are fixed. There is no storage lock.
Is it dual voltage, and what comes in the box?
Yes, it is dual voltage (110–240V); the rating is printed on a sticker on the inner part of the iron. In the box: the iron with a 9-foot swivel cord, plus safety instructions.
